Hospitality’s Got Talent raises £30k for charity

If you haven’t heard, just FYI we’ve set up our own charity: the Wafflemeister Foundation.

We’ve supported lots of charities over the years, but we thought, you know what? We could have an even bigger impact by doing something different and launching our own.

Rather than some stuffy corporate suit event, we wanted to get all our hospitality friends in the room for what we knew could be the most fun night out, letting our hair down while also raising money for some brilliant causes. So, obviously we put on our own Hospitality’s Got Talent competition. And my oh my, did it deliver!

Ell Powell from Nix & Kix delivered a comedy sketch that had us doubled over in tears; Bidfood’s Liza Lucas and Michael Pollitt gave it their all belting out ‘This Is Me’ from The Greatest Showman; and the ‘Crispy Grids Band’ from Perfect Storm PR got everyone on the dancefloor with Lizzo’s ‘About Damn Time’.

To round it all off, Danny Wright, founder of Collab Coffee, gave us a stunning solo of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’.

Our ‘mad for it’ Hospitality’s Got Talent 2024 winner wasStuart Barnett from Dewberry Redpoint, who gave us a brilliant rendition of ‘Don’t look back in anger’ by Oasis that would have made the Gallaghers proud.

And most importantly, we managed to raise a stonking £30,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Burnt Chef Project.
